How Lazy Have We Become? Today I saw the ultimate in lazyness from a parent. This was even worse then seeing the minivan load of kids climbing in and out of the van to go knock on the doors to get candy which in itself is pathetic. Today, I was playing in the front yard with my 3 children and this little boy of maybe 8 or 9 walks up and says "I am a cub scout and am out selling M & M's plain and peanut for a dollars a bag". Well... (posted by Robert 2 years 78 days ago.)

Truth
What is truth? How important is truth? Truth is one of the virtues of life that we should live by, and that we must live by if we want to maintain our honor, dignity, self-respect, and respect from others. Now we can look back through time and see history repeat itself over and over and over again. Great nations have risen and fallen by the morals of its people. Time has shown that a nation that is/was a God fearing nation (whether it was a single... (posted by Robert 2 years 92 days ago.)

The Throwing Star or Shuriken
The throwing star or shuriken is a small hand held weapon that was designed to act as a distraction more then a killing weapon. The literal translation is "sword in hand". They were made from everyday items such as needles, nails, knives, coins, and a variety of flat plates of metal with sharpened edges. It was an inexpensive weapon to make, that would be easily hidden, and yet could be a tactical advantage in a fight or... (posted by Robert 2 years 170 days ago.)

The Iron Fan
The tessen was an iron fan that sometimes could actually be used as a hand fan or was just made to resemble one. Given the high cost of making these items they were typically just for the noble class. Now many Samurai warriors would always have one with them and they were experts in the ability to protect themselves from attack until they could subdue their opponent or draw their sword. There is a story of a Japanese official that served... (posted by Robert 2 years 170 days ago.)

The Samurai
The Japanese samurai would eat, sleep, live, and die by a code of honor. It was known as Bushido which means "the way of the warrior". Now this code stressed a moral code of conduct which covered frugality, loyalty, martial arts mastery, and honor unto death. This code came about from the combination of two ways of life, the religuous life of Shinto Buddhism that stressed wisdom and serenity and the violence that the samurai lived with and...
